The Baltimore Ravens completed their incredible comeback against the Indianapolis Colts with an overtime touchdown to wide receiver Marquise Brown. After trailing 22-3 in the third quarter, the Ravens fought back to tie the game in regulation before scoring a touchdown on the first possession of overtime.

Ravens overtime-winning touchdown

Capping off a 10-play drive for 68 yards, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw his fourth touchdown of the night to “Hollywood” Brown for the win. With tight coverage in the end zone, Brown managed to pull in the game-winning catch with a defender hanging onto him and the Ravens ended the game before the Colts even got a chance with the football.

Jackson ended the game throwing 37-43 for 86 percent accuracy, the highest accuracy in history for any quarterback throwing over 400 yards in a game. Jackson ended the day with 442 yards and four touchdown without an interception. Brown himself caught nine passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravens received an incredible effort on both sides of the ball to complete the comeback, including a blocked field goal from defensive end Calais Campbell.

On back-to-back plays with the Colts poised to win, the Ravens got a huge lift to their comeback chances after Campbell came up clutch. After forcing a field goal by saving the first down with a huge tackle, Campbell burst through blockers and deflected the Colts’ field goal attempt as they were already up eight points with just over four minutes in the game remaining.

The Ravens proceeded to complete the comeback by driving down the field again and securing the two-point conversion. The Colts were given one last chance to win it after a Ravens defensive penalty with time running out. Colts kicker Rodrigo Blankenship attempted a 47-yard field goal as time expired that missed wide left.

Jackson upset at fumble upheld by review

Following a review of a huge play in the third quarter between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts, both teams found controversy in the referee’s review decision. The Ravens felt a fumble by quarterback Lamar Jackson should be overturned, and the Colts felt their 99-yard touchdown return should be upheld. The referees ruled the fumble occurred, but the return was called back due to an illegal forward pass.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson fumbled on the Colts’ one-yard line, and the football was recovered by Colts linebacker Darius Leonard. On the return Leonard felt himself about to be tackled and attempted to lateral pass the football to a quicker teammate. Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers received the lateral pass and sprinted by the Ravens for the 99-yard touchdown return.

The controversy came for the Ravens as the replay appeared to show Jackson’s knee hit the ground with both hands on the football. The broadcast team quickly identified that it might be upheld as the ball began to spin before Jackson’s knee touched down. The ruling on the field was a fumble, so it would need substantial evidence to overturn.

Despite being relieved by the game’s result, Jackson was visibly still upset with the fumble call being upheld during his postgame remarks on the field to the Monday Night Football broadcast team.
