The WNBA has released its annual list of names that have formally filed for inclusion in this year’s proceedings, which are scheduled for April 15 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The list is a who’s who of college basketball stars, though there are at least one or two notable omissions.

LSU point guard Haley Van Lith is not on the WNBA Draft list, for example, perhaps one of the few decisions that women’s college basketball fans were waiting on.

Even coach Kim Mulkey had seemed unsure of what Van Lith might do in recent days, making a plea of sorts for both Van Lith and mega star Angel Reese to potentially play for another season.

“I hope it’s not her last game. But if it is, I’m proud to have been her coach for a year,” Mulkey said. “She’s got another year if she wants to come back. So does Angel. I know they have to make decisions.”

But several others who have announced in recent days do appear on the list.

Among them: Reese, Stanford star Cameron Brink, Tennessee forward Rickea Jackson, Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley, Nebraska guard Jaz Shelley and MTSU guard Savannah Wheeler.

Two notable names that do not appear on the WNBA Draft list but who have already announced their intentions to make the jump are Iowa star Caitlin Clark and South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso. Both players will have 48 hours to announce their intentions formally to the WNBA following the conclusion of their final collegiate game.

Both players are competing in this year’s Final Four.

In total there are 89 players on the current list of WNBA Draft entrants, though the list will continue to expand, obviously, as players like Clark and Cardoso officially throw their hats into the mix.
