AUBURN — Auburn baseball will find out its NCAA Tournament fate regarding hosting a Regional or not on Sunday, and according to the most recent projections from D1Baseball, the Tigers are still expected to host.

The NCAA will release its 16 host Regional sites on Sunday, May 28. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show takes place on Monday, May 29 at 11 am CT on ESPN2.

HOLDING ON TO HOSTING: D1Baseball released their latest tournament projections on Sunday morning and Auburn remains a host site for a Regional as the No. 14 overall national seed.

  • 2-seed Duke, 3-seed Troy and 4-sed Sam Houston State are the other three teams projected to be in Auburn’s Regional.
  • The Tigers were a No. 10 overall national seed heading into their game against Alabama on Thursday afternoon and a No. 12 overall national seed before the SEC Tournament started.
  • Given host sites are announced on Sunday, there shouldn’t be many variables change at this point that would change the seeding of Butch Thompson’s bunch.
  • The SEC projects to have 10 teams make the tournament, including seven hosting a Regional.
  • As the No. 14 overall national seed, Auburn is paired with the No. 3 overall national seed. In D1Baseball’s latest projections, that would be Arkansas. The Hogs swept Auburn to start the SEC season in Fayetteville, Ark.
  • Auburn was the No. 14 overall national seed last season, winning their Regional before heading to No. 3 overall national seed Oregon State and winning a Super Regional.
