Champ Anthony stepping up for Auburn this spring: 'I pride myself on being a leader'

AUBURN -- There is nothing easy about playing junior college football, just ask Champ Anthony. "It's grimy," Anthony said on Tuesday as Auburn continues through spring camp. But Anthony wouldn't trade it for the world. "JUCO is the best experience I’ve ever been through," he said. "They did a real good job of preparing me for big-boy football. In JUCO, everybody plays hard, it’s fast paced, more fast paced than high school. It taught me how I need to play fast and play physical. "You become a tougher football player from just having to survive, find out what you’re going to do, what you’re going to eat, every day is a grind. It’s not just on the football field, not just in the weight room, every day is a grind that some people don’t get coming through high school.
