NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- If there's one thing that Hugh Freeze has shown himself to be since arriving at Auburn, it's that sometimes he's maybe too transparent in his assessments of the program, games and individual performances. That was never more evident than after Auburn's 31-13 loss to Maryland in the Music City Bowl on Saturday afternoon. "I don’t need anyone to tell me we didn’t measure up. That starts with me. I feel so awful for our incredible fans that traveled here," Freeze said after the loss. "To not perform any better in games this year like this, I promise you I don’t need someone to tell me I didn’t get it done. Our staff and our young men, starting with our staff and starting with me, have to create a standard of the way we consistently work, consistently compete, and figure out how to be a true team. That is my goal in 2024." More from Freeze inside...
