AUBURN -- By his own admission, Auburn's game against Alabama was one of Bruce Pearl's more important regular season games in recent memory. Rivalry bragging rights, SEC championship implications, NCAA Tournament seeding, it was big. The game on Saturday doesn't have the rivalry bragging rights, but it has historical implications that carry some serious weight. Pearl has never taken an Auburn team to Gainesville and won. The Tigers haven't won there as a program since February of 1996. In that way, combined with the continued SEC title factors and being another Quad I opportunity, it's another "monumental task," as Pearl said. No. 12-ranked Auburn (19-4, 8-2 SEC) travels to The Swamp to tussle with Florida (15-7, 5-4 SEC) on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville, Fla. The game will tip at 2:30 pm CT on SEC Network. The only other SEC venue that Auburn has a longer losing streak at is Kentucky, where the Tigers last won in 1988. More inside, including three thoughts and game notes...
