What we've learned, what we don't know yet about Auburn football after Week 3

The preseason is over and the real season begins on Saturday as Auburn football (3-0) travels to Texas A&M (2-1) for an early-morning kickoff. UMass and Cal combined are expected to win eight games. Samford is FCS. Meanwhile, Texas A&M was ESPN's Desmond Howard's dark horse candidate to win the SEC and make the College Football Playoff. That's the kind of talent and potential this Aggies' team possesses. Among the teams who have signed the most "blue chip" recruits over the last four years, Texas A&M ranks fourth nationally behind only Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia. The Aggies have signed more blue chip recruits than Clemson at fifth, LSU at sixth and Texas at seventh, and have signed 22 percent more blue chip recruits than Auburn over the last four years. Oh, by the way, Georgia and LSU are on the schedule immediately following Texas A&M. Depending on the numbers, 22 percent could potentially represent anywhere from 15-20 more blue chip players on the Aggies' roster than are on the Tigers. That's significant, and it's why Hugh Freeze said on Monday programs like Texas A&M have been "stacking" talent, and while Auburn isn't there yet, they will be "there soon." What have we learned through three weeks? The competition is nothing like what's to come, but there are certainly some takeaways.
