One of the top defensive lineman in the country is officially a Clemson Tiger as four-star prospect Stephiylan Green has signed with Clemson.

Green is rated by On3 as the No. 7 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 46 overall player in the nation.

The Georgia native committed to Clemson in June, before officially signing with the Tigers on Wednesday.

He previously pointed to his relationship with defensive line coach Nick Eason as his reason for choosing Clemson.

“Coach Eason is the main reason I committed,” Green said. “I don’t think I would have committed without coach Eason. When I first went up there I didn’t have any interest in Clemson. I just went up there and it felt like family. My mom went up with me and she just knew. She wanted me to commit from the jump and I just made it happen.”

The On3 Consensus rankings have Green as the No. 11 defensive lineman and No. 93 overall player in the country.

Green chose the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and others.

The 6-foot-2.5, 275-pound prospect should be able to come in and immediately help a Clemson defense that is set to lose a lot up front after the Orange Bowl.

“The environment at Clemson is great. It is one big family,” Green previously told On3’s Chad Simmons. “The coaches make it feel like a family. Then the recruits that are coming in in this class are big for me, too.”
