Clemson falls out of AP Top 25, unranked for first time since 2014
CLEMSON — On Sunday afternoon, Clemson fell out of the AP Top 25 poll. The streak as a ranked team is officially over at 107 weeks for the Tigers.
After sitting at No. 25 last week, Clemson saw themselves drop out of the poll despite clinging to a one-possession home win over Boston College on Saturday night. This continues a slide for the Tigers.
Clemson began the season ranked No. 3 in the preseason but has steadily seen their ranking drop throughout the first five weeks of the season. For the first time since 2014, Dabo Swinney’s ballclub will not be ranked.
This snaps the longest streak in school history and the second-longest streak ever in college football history.
In the ACC, Wake Forest (No. 19) and NC State (No. 23) are the only teams ranked as the conference continues to have a rough season. Clemson will enter the bye week at 3-2 overall and will need to get healthy before traveling to Syracuse on Oct. 15.
