Four-star offensive lineman earns Clemson offer

Clemson has officially entered the recruitment for Earnest Greene.

The four-star offensive lineman out of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California, received an offer from the Tigers on Thursday night. The alma mater of DJ Uiagalelei and Dacari Collins, Bosco is also the home of 2023 defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei.

And while the California connection could help Clemson in the recruitment of Greene, there is plenty of room to make up. Ohio State, Georgia, Texas and Alabama have all emerged as top landing spots for the 6-foot-4, 330-pound lineman.

Greene is visiting Georgia this weekend. And if not for a flight problem, he would have been in Columbus last weekend to watch the Buckeyes against Oregon.

Clemson’s 2022 class of 12 commits currently includes offensive tackles Collin Sadler and Blake Miller. Adding a guard is key as the offensive line tries to improve depth and talent in the coming years.

The Tigers can emerge as a contender for Greene. But the interior offensive lineman has already released a top-10 list of schools. They’ll have to catch up on the fly.

Report: Deshaun Watson’s 2021 status in jeopardy

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson may not see the field this season, as a new report from A.J. Perez says that it’s looking more unlikely that the criminal inquiry over allegations of sexual misconduct will be completed before the Nov. 2 NFL trade deadline.

It’s been a month since it was first reported that a grand jury would decide whether Watson will face criminal charges, and Perez reported that “prosecutors have yet to present the case — at least in full — to the grand jury.”

Tee Higgins switching jersey number after season

Tee Higgins is looking to build upon an impressive rookie debut. The former Clemson star receiver is a key piece to the Cincinnati Bengals’ young offensive core, but there’s just one small problem that is starting to bother Higgins.

He wears No. 85 in a city where one of the most memorable wideouts to play sported that same number. Though NFL rules prohibit a mid-season jersey switch, Higgins has plans to go back to the No. 5 that is synonymous with his Clemson days.

Why Will Taylor turned down millions to play football, baseball at Clemson

Will Taylor already was on Clemson’s campus in early July, a week before the MLB Draft. But folks at Clemson, and even Taylor, were unsure how long he would stay there.

Taylor, a two-sport star at Dutch Fork High in Irmo, steadily climbed up MLB draft boards throughout his senior year of high school before enrolling at Clemson this past summer. He was set to be a first-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, perhaps even a top-10 pick. Taylor just wasn’t sure he wanted to be selected.

ClemsonSports.com senior writer Matt Connolly sat down with Taylor’s high school coach and parents about what went into the decision.

2023 LB Drayk Bowen is ‘really excited’ to see Clemson this Saturday

This weekend, Clemson is slated to play host to a pair of 2023 targets from the Midwest. The Tigers will get five-star Sonny Styles on campus for the first time, and will have another opportunity to impress Indiana-based junior Drayk Bowen. Both recruits are attending the team’s ACC opener versus Georgia Tech.

Bowen, a multi-sport athlete who will also be playing baseball at the next level, is looking forward to returning to Clemson. ClemsonSports.com senior recruiting writer Joseph Hastings caught up with Bown to breakdown his upcoming visit.
