The Florida Gators (6-7, 3-5 SEC) were dominated on Saturday afternoon by the No. 14 Oregon State Beavers (10-3, 6-3 Pac-12) in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl by a score of 30-3.

It was the first time the two teams have ever faced off, and it was an ugly end to Billy Napier’s first season as head coach of the Gators.

Florida finished with a 6-7 record for the second year in a row and will head into the offseason with plenty to improve in 2023.

Here are the live updates of the Gators’ loss to the Beavers in Las Vegas.

The Beavers’ running game powered them down to the red zone, but the Gators came up with a big stop to force a field goal. Everrett Hayes hit a 27-yard field goal with 4:32 remaining in the half to give Oregon State a 10-0 lead.

Jordan Young blocked Hayes’ last-second 33-yard field goal, which Derek Wingo returned to the OSU 42-yard line. Florida headed back to the locker room still down 10.

First quarter

After three and outs from both teams on their first drives, the Gators found some momentum on their second drive. However, Adam Mihalek was missed his first field goal attempt of the day from 52 yards out.

The Beavers offense got rolling with some big plays on the ensuing possession and struck first with an 8-yard touchdown rush from Tyjon Lindsey. Oregon State leads 7-0 with 2:10 to play in the first quarter.
