A second Georgia player has entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, and this one comes from the Bulldogs’ freshman class. After just a single season in Athens, Mari Jordan is finding a new home.

The Norcross, Ga. native did not appear in any games as a freshman, redshirting instead, and will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Jordan ranked as the nation’s No. 157 player coming out of high school according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was seen as highly as a top-100 player by ESPN.

Jordan originally committed to Georgia during the Tom Crean era. He was named to the All-State team by the Atlanta Journal Constitution during both his junior and senior seasons, and the new staff led by Mike White decided to hold true to the previously made commitment, signing Jordan as a part of the Class of 2023.

“Mari is a big wing. He could probably play 2 or 3 positions,” White said while describing Jordan’s skillset after his signing. “He plays really hard, has very good length, and he’s a guy that we somewhat inherited. We had to re-recruit of course, but he’s grown up a Georgia fan. The previous staff did a really good job of recruiting him. He was committed when we got here. When we were able to go on the road for the first time and go recruit, he was the first guy that I went to go see and really liked him. Followed him of course all summer, tried to speed up the relationship building process and he remained loyal to the red and black.”

Jordan joins Jalen DeLoach, Justin Hill, M.A. Moncrieffe and Jabri Abdur-Rahim in entering the portal so far. Georgia is left with five players having eligibility still on the roster as things currently stand: Frank Anselem-Ibe, Blue Cain, Silas Demary, Dylan James and RJ Melendez.
