LSU vs. Alabama preview & predictions | Can Jayden Daniels carry the Tigers to a win?

LSU running back Logan Diggs met with the media this week to preview his first time competing in LSU-Alabama. The first-year Tiger is excited about the game, but trying to stay grounded as he prepares for a huge SEC West matchup.

Q: What are you looking forward to about your first LSU-Alabama game?

LD: “Looking forward to the atmosphere for sure. Looking forward to having an opportunity to play a great team with with my team. It’s gonna be two good teams, you know, going at it, and you can’t get more excited to do that or than anything. It’s two Top 3, Top 3 teams in the country going to play against each other. I mean, it’s a really great opportunity, so at the end of the day, I’m just grateful to be able to be there and have the opportunity to live out my dream. I grew up watching the Alabama-LSU game my whole life and actually being able to play in it, it’s gonna be real fun.”

Q: How do you guys make the LSU-Alabama game big, but not too big as far as your mentality goes?

LD: “Just staying in the middle. Every game is a big game for us. We don’t want no losses on our team’s name and we don’t want no losses for this program and for LSU as a whole. So I probably would say just stay in the middle. Never getting too high and never getting too low throughout the week and especially during the game. It’s gonna be ups and downs during the game, but at the end of the day we know and we will have trust and faith in our preparation.”

Q: How important is the mentality to believe that you can bring home an LSU win over Alabama?

LD: “Extremely (important). We work on the mental edge every every week with our doctor. She preached to us that the game is majority physical, but most stuff is definitely mental. So definitely being in a right mental state for the game is gonna be vital for us.”

Q: How do you grapple with everyone watching LSU-Alabama? It’s a huge game nationally every year, do you feel like there’s added pressure?

LD: “I would say no. Like I said, every game is a big game for us. We’re blessed to have the opportunity to play the game of football at the end of the day. So having an opportunity to play Alabama or have an opportunity to play Grambling, it’s still a blessing to still be able to wake up in the morning and go out and have an opportunity to go play the game that we love. So, I mean, yeah, it’s a big game, but at the end of the day, we’re just blessed to be able to play it at the end of the day.”
