Brian Thomas, Jr. recaps LSU Pro Day, impressive showing in front of NFL scouts

2025 Ruston (La.) defensive back Aidan Anding has a knack for making plays on Friday nights. This offseason, he’s continued that trend as he picked up Defensive Back MVP honors at Under Armour Dallas.

At UA Dallas, Anding displayed sticky coverage as he made a statement against some top wide receiver talent.

College coaches are noticing as well. Texas jumped into the mix this week for the 5-11, 165-pound defensive back and LSU hosted him earlier this year for a visit. He’s on the radar for the Tigers as the summer camp season inches closer.

This fall, Ruston won a state championship with a strong defensive showing as the Bearcats were littered with Division I talent. Anding, an All-District selection, was key to helping Ruston capture a title.

“This team has a lot of stars on this team, but we got to work together,” Anding told On3 after a big win over Lafayette Christian Academy this fall in which he grabbed two interceptions. “Together, we’re unstoppable. We are the best defensive team in the state of Louisiana when we play together.”

Arkansas leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for Anding over TCU and Miami. He’s added other offers from the likes of Baylor, Houston, Ole Miss, UTSA and others. As he starts to take visits, which includes Miami this weekend, he’s got his eye on certain keys.

“What I look for is a real family and a brotherhood,” Anding told On3 last month. “At Ruston we’re really big on family, so when I got to a school I look at the relationship the players have with the coaches, the coaches with each other, and just their friendship.”

Anding also competes in basketball and track and field. He was an All-District selection in basketball this season for Ruston.
