Louisiana lands 6 recruits in On3 Industry Top 300

Louisiana’s 2024 class continues to see recruits rise in the rankings, and the latest updates to the On3 Top 300 have shuffled up the On3 Industry Rankings.

Now, six Louisiana juniors are ranked inside the On3 Industry Top 300.

The group is headlined at the top by a new name in Acadiana’s Dominick McKinley, who went from unranked up to the No. 18 overall prospect in the country.

Here’s the rundown on the six Louisiana recruits inside the Top 300.

Louisiana’s Top 300 recruits in 2024

No. 1: Dominick McKinley – DT … Acadiana High … McKinley landed Class 5A All-State Honorable Mention honors after a strong junior season. He finished the year with 86 tackles, 10 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, two interceptions and a touchdown against some of the state’s top competition. He has offers from LSU, Alabama, Texas and others. McKinley is ranked as the No. 18 recruit in the country and the nation’s No. 4 defensive lineman.

No. 2: Trey’Dez Green – TE … East Feliciana High … At 6-foot-5.5, 225 pounds, Green has college offers for both football and basketball. As a junior this past fall, he reeled in 42 catches for 864 yards and 14 touchdowns. LSU is the leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, though Green has yet to narrow his list of double-digit offers. Green is now tabbed by the On3 Industry rankings as the No. 2 tight end and No. 35 overall prospect in the 2024 class.

No. 3: Wardell Mack – CB … John Ehret High … Mack is the state’s most electric skill player, shining on both offense and defense for John Ehret. The latest shuffle to the industry rankings saw a rise for Mack’s stock, and he’s now a Top 100 recruit and the No. 9 cornerback in the country. LSU and Alabama are two of the teams out front for the Louisiana native.

No. 4: Tylen Singleton – LB … Many High … The Many High standout has been a key piece to the Many High defense in recent seasons. After winning a state title in December, the junior can now turn his focus to recruiting – and he’s got more than 20 college offers under his belt. Singleton is ranked as the No. 8 linebacker in the country and No. 106 overall recruit in the class.

No. 5: Ju’Juan Johnson – CB … Lafayette Christian Academy … The Lafayette quarterback is being recruited by colleges as a cornerback, and the recent rankings updates saw the four-star move from being ranked as an athlete to a cornerback. With the switch, Johnson checks in as the No. 16 cornerback prospect in the class and the No. 179 overall prospect in the country. Johnson committed to Colorado on February 4, though LSU and others continue to recruit him.

No. 6: Kolaj Cobbins – LB … Destrehan High … Cobbins helped Destrehan win a state title with his play as a JACK linebacker, and he’s reeled in offers from LSU, Alabama and more. At 6-foot-2.5, 200 pounds, Cobbins kept his four-star ranking while landing as the No. 20 linebacker prospect and No. 202 overall recruit in the class.

Rounding out the Bayou State’s Top 10

No. 7: Dashawn McBryde – S … Denham Springs High … McBryde is one of the best defensive back prospects in Louisiana, and he totaled 46 tackles, four tackles for loss, nine interceptions, nine pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two touchdowns on defense as a junior this past season. It was enough to earn All-State honors, and offers are in from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Baylor and more. McBryde is ranked as the No. 34 safety prospect in the 2024 class.

No. 8: Koby Young – WR … Holy Cross … Young checks in as the state’s top wide receiver after his junior season, and offers are already in from LSU, Alabama and others. In 11 games this past season, Young caught 41 passes for 667 yards and four touchdowns. He’s currently ranked as the No. 64 wide receiver prospect in the country.

No. 9: De’Myrion Johnson – DL … Westgate High … LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida and other SEC schools have already offered the New Iberia defensive lineman, who is set to make a wave of visits this spring as he navigates his recruitment ahead of his senior season next fall. Johnson is ranked as a Top 10 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 41 defensive lineman in the country.

No. 10: Joshua Jackson – WR … St. Augustine … Jackson closed out his junior season as one of the Top 100 wide receivers in high school football, and he’s currently inside the Top 10 of the On3 Industry rankings for Louisiana. The multi-sport athlete could be in for a busy offseason when it comes to reeling in new college offers.
