Decision Primer: Top 100 Michigan TE target Andrew Olesh ready to make call

Andrew Olesh is ready to make his decision.
The Top 100 tight end out of Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh will announce his commitment today at 6 p.m. ET.
Olesh, who is ranked as the No. 3 tight end and No. 78 overall recruit nationally, per On3, has a final four of Alabama, Florida, Michigan and Penn State.
Here is a closer look at where things stand.
Why It Will Be Michigan
All signs point to Michigan in this recruitment. In fact, Michigan has an 86.1 percent chance of landing Olesh going into his decision, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. I logged my prediction in favor of Michigan after his official visit a couple of weeks ago. It was there where the Wolverines really sold Olesh on its elite academics and track record of developing tight ends. It appears lead recruiter Steve Casula, head coach Sherrone Moore, area recruiter Grant Newsome and the rest of the staff have done enough to win this recruitment.
Why It Won’t Be Michigan
Michigan is considered the leader going into the decision, but Olesh was originally planning to make his decision last week. The delay has given some U-M fans pause as Alabama had a long call with Olesh following his Michigan official visit. Alabama has always been an intriguing option for Olesh, and the fact that the Tide are still lingering around is reason for minor doubt. Penn State was once considered the leader for Olesh, and there is plenty of pressure for him to pick the home state program. PSU hasn’t gone down without a fight.

In His Own Words
“(Michigan’s tight end production) is definitely really impressive. They just had a guy (AJ Barner) taken in the fourth round. They are shooting guys to the draft. Colston (Loveland) is obviously coming up. I’m sure they have a couple of more guys coming through. Their production has been very good the past couple of years.”
EJ’s Prediction
Alabama just picked up a commitment from On300 tight end Kaleb Edwards, and Penn State has been fading in this recruitment for some time. Michigan has an easy sell for tight ends, and the comparison to Colston Loveland is definitely moving the needle for Olesh. New Michigan tight ends coach Steve Casula also knocked it out of the park for Olesh on his official visit last month. The two have bonded extremely well. I feel good about my On3 prediction in favor of Michigan and am still expecting the Wolverines to win out.
