Michigan Wolverines basketball fired Juwan Howard Friday afternoon, following the head coach's fifth season with the program that ended with an 8-24 record. There were plenty of issues with the program over the last two seasons — a stretch that saw the Wolverines go 26-40 — both on and off the court. A change was necessary, but now athletic director Warde Manuel and the U-M administration have their hands full finding a replacement that can turn Michigan — which ranked second in the country with 23 NCAA Tournament victories from 2013-22 — back into a winner.
