Michigan Wolverines football has had its Big Ten opponents for the 2024 season for weeks, but now the dates are set on MGoBlue.com. The Maize and Blue take on Fresno State (Aug. 31), Texas (Sept. 7) and Arkansas State (Sept. 14), before a challenging Big Ten slate.

The Maize and Blue have eight overall home games and four road tilts in 2024, after playing seven outings inside The Big House this season. In unique fashion, Michigan will have two bye weeks with how the calendar sets up — Oct. 12 and Nov. 16.

The Big Ten is set to welcome in four West Coast schools to the conference next season in USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington. Michigan has a winning record against Oregon (3-2), UCLA (8-3) and Washington (8-5), and trails in the series versus USC, 4-6. The Maize and Blue will take on three of the four, all of them except UCLA, in their first season with the Big Ten.

The Wolverines’ September doesn’t get any easier after a tough non-conference slate, with USC coming to town Sept. 21. Minnesota Sept. 28 will round out the first month of the season.

Michigan goes to Washington for its first road game of the season Oct. 5, before the first bye. The Wolverines will play at Illinois (Oct. 19), and vs. Michigan State Oct. 26. The Maize and Blue kick off November with a date against Oregon Nov. 2 and continue with games at Indiana and versus Northwestern, before the rivalry contest against Ohio State in Columbus.

Michigan is currently 8-0 and hunting a third consecutive College Football Playoff appearance. The Maize and Blue have won eight games in a row by 24-plus points for the first time since 1903-04.

Michigan hasn’t just been dominant when comparing to U-M teams of the past, it’s been so in the context of greater college football. The Wolverines are the first team in the AP era (since 1936) to score at least 30 points and hold each of their opponents to 10 points or fewer in their first eight games. The 1905 Minnesota Golden Gophers were the last Big Ten team to achieve a similar streak (30-plus points scored, 14 points or fewer allowed), but it lasted only seven games.
