Michigan football’s schedule for the 2022 season is now complete. The Big Ten Conference announced updated slates on Tuesday afternoon.

The most notable changes come in the form of locations and dates for the previously set games. The conference corrected a scheduling quirk that had Michigan playing at Michigan State and vs. Indiana in consecutive seasons. Michigan travels to Indiana now on Oct. 8, while the Michigan State game reverts back to Ann Arbor and will take place on Oct. 29. It is the third-consecutive year the Wolverines and Spartans will play on Halloween weekend.

The rest of the schedule changes were moving dates around. Michigan football’s showdown with Penn State moved from Oct. 8 to Oct. 15. The trip to Rutgers now takes place in the first weekend in November, which had been previously scheduled as a Michigan bye. The Wolverines will now go into their bye week on Oct. 22, giving them two weeks to prepare for MSU. Big Ten West contests against Nebraska and Illinois take place in consecutive weeks on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 in Ann Arbor. This leads up to Michigan football’s rivalry renewal with the Ohio State Buckeyes, set for Nov. 26 in Columbus.

Michigan’s non-conference slate of games was untouched and remained in tact. The Wolverines open the 2022 season with Colorado State on Sept. 3. They host Hawaii the following week on Sept. 10. Michigan football closes out its non-conference schedule with UConn on Sept. 17.
