Michigan has found its quarterback of the future.

After a few bumps in the road over the last two cycles, the Wolverines finally pulled in a highly touted talent in 2024 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day signal-caller Jadyn Davis, the No. 4 quarterback and No. 26 overall recruit nationally.

Davis committed to Michigan following his visit this month. He picked the Wolverines over fellow finalists Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee live on ESPN’s SportsCenter broadcast.

“All those guys (on Michigan’s staff) have been on NFL staffs — coaches in the NFL and played in the NFL,” Davis said. “Coach Harbaugh was a 14-year veteran. The quarterback position is the hardest position to play. If you haven’t played it, you don’t really know what it’s like, so it’s great to have Coach Harbaugh there. Michigan is a great school.”

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh personally met with Davis and his family and made a big impression on all of his visits.

“Coach Harbaugh is a cool dude,” Davis said. “Some people call him awkward, and he can be (laughs). But he’s just a really cool dude. He’s very humble. You’d never know it was Jim Harbaugh if you didn’t know his face. My family loves him. My dad had great conversations with him. I like Coach Harbaugh a lot.”

Davis is the 10th commit in Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class, which also features Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, four-star Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel, three-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive lineman Ben Roebuck and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zachary Ludwig.

Davis has an On3 NIL Valuation of $557K with 36K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Davis led Providence Day School to a 12-1 record and a state title as he passed for 3,425 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2022, completing 221-of-305 attempts (72.5%). Davis earned state Player of the Year honors from Max Preps and High School Football America.

Michigan entered the day with the No. 8 ranked recruiting class nationally in the 2024 cycle. The Wolverines are ranked second in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.
