Michigan sophomore wide receiver Semaj Morgan is set to host a camp for youth football players May 18 at his high school, West Bloomfield (Mich.) HIgh. Registration for the camp is open now, with the fee being $50 for players ages 6-14.

Morgan will be joined by a slew of Michigan football players, including running back Donovan Edwards, cornerback Will Johnson, tight end Colston Loveland, defensive tackles Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham and others.

“Camp by the Champ” is not just any ordinary event; It is a community gathering designed to unite football enthusiasts, budding athletes, and industry experts alike,” Morgan’s website reads. “Our goal is to celebrate the essence of National Champions while offering invaluable insights and skill development opportunities to aspiring champions.”

Michigan has reportedly hired former Baltimore Ravens defensive end Pernell McPhee. McPhee, a fifth-round NFL Draft pick in 2011 out of Mississippi State, spent 11 years as a professional player, including his last three years with the Baltimore Ravens (2019-21), after a previous stint with the franchise that drafted him from 2011-14. He worked under Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale for a portion of his time in Baltimore and is re-joining him in Ann Arbor.

Quote Of The Day

“Ernest has been great, from the first time I had the chance to sit down and speak with him. Just to learn his background … I try to tell kids about my background, tell them I’m an open book. And Ernest, you could almost look at him as the third starter from last year. He played a ton, which shows you the respect level and what they thought of him from the previous staff. And he’s taken a big leadership role so far this season. I think he understands how much Mike Barrett and Junior Colson did here last year, and I think he wants to continue that leadership aspect. He also understands how much production we lost. So, he’s been the main guy that’s been grabbing some of these younger and inexperienced guys and trying to get them up to speed on what the standard is to play defense here at Michigan.”
