The Michigan Wolverines have been busy in the transfer portal since the end of spring football with more additions potentially on the way.

Former Michigan State commit and Stephen F. Austin transfer defensive tackle Brandon Lane told On3’s Pete Nakos he would visit Michigan on May 19-20 and head to Wisconsin on May 22-23. However, Nakos stated that a source indicated he is not on the board at Michigan or Wisconsin, and that Georgia State is in the mix.

This likely means that Michigan has other options higher on the board at defensive tackle as it looks to round out the rotation around Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant.

Michigan has added four transfers, all at defensive back, in recent days in Albany’s Aamir Hall, Tennessee/Louisville’s Wesley Walker, Michigan State’s Jaden Mangham and UNLV’s Ricky Johnson III. Since the end of spring football, Michigan also brought in wide receivers C.J. Charleston (Youngstown State) and Amorion Walker (Ole Miss) and kicker Dominic Zvada (Arkansas State).

This winter, Michigan added linebacker Jaishawn Barham (Maryland) and offensive guard Josh Priebe (Northwestern).

Michigan quote of the day

“I’m not trying to compare anybody to JJ, but he was a great leader last year and we all knew that we could just follow him. We all knew he was going to do his job, So that’s what we need out of the quarterback this year. I’m not saying we don’t have a quarterback that has none of that. But I’m saying whoever our number one is, he is gonna have to show that we can follow him into the fire. That’s what a lot of people on our team respected about JJ last year. And I was one of them, I respected him because of that.”
