NC State baseball is near the midway point of its season, and it has a pair of top-100 college MLB draft prospects, according to D1Baseball’s updated rankings list.

Junior catcher Jacob Cozart checked in at No. 23 on D1Baseball’s rankings, the fourth-highest rated collegiate catcher of the group. He is hitting .314 with three doubles, six home runs and 21 RBI this spring for the red and white. Cozart also boasts 27 walks to just 23 strikeouts with a .455 on-base percentage in his 105 at-bats for NC State.

While Cozart checked in inside the top-30, he was not the only Wolfpack player on the rankings list. Sophomore outfielder Eli Serrano, a draft-eligible second-year player, came in at No. 67 on the company’s ranking list.

Serrano, a Fuquay-Varina, N.C., native, is hitting .252 with three doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI this season. He has collected 43 total bases, while recording 16 walks and 16 strikeouts. Serrano is slugging .387 with a .361 on-base percentage this spring.

The Wolfpack will be back in action this weekend for a three-game series at No. 2 Clemson. NC State has lost its past five games, including being swept at Louisville over the weekend. The red and white also lost to No. 12 East Carolina and at UNCW in the team’s last two midweek games.

This will wrap up a seven-game road trip and the team will return back to Doak Field for a four-game homestand. The Pack will host Campbell on Tuesday night before North Carolina arrives in Raleigh for a three-game slate beginning Thursday.
