Penn State Wrestling Weekend Preview Michigan And Michigan State

No. 1 Penn State beat No. 11 Michigan on Friday night. The Nittany Lions won their 49th consecutive dual meet.

“There’s a lot of great matchups up and down the lineup,” Lions coach Cael Sanderson said on Tuesday before the match. “Michigan always has a great team. I mean, they’re always one of the toughest teams in the country. So this year’s no exception. It’ll be a fun match. Because, in the big dual meets, we look at every dual kind of the same way. Every match matters, because you’re looking at each individual trying to figure out well, how can this kid get better and make sure, like I said before, he’s trending in the right direction?

“But as a whole, as a team, we compete individually. So whether it’s a big dual or a small dual, I mean, there’s no such thing as a small dual. It’s kind of the same thing for us. We just want to see our guys just kind of be themselves when they get out there.”
