Now that we have a full account of the 2022 season, lets take a look at the Penn State football players’ best performances this season based on PFF grade. Instead of focusing on the overall grade, we’ll break out each player by best pass-blocking and run-blocking performances from the season. While there are plenty of metrics for pass protection, unfortunately, there are no run-blocking metrics to describe the individual player in PFF’s data.  Lastly, it’s important to understand that blocking is one of the hardest areas to grade well in the PFF grading system. However, for run blocking, consistently grading in the high 60s and low 70s will net a highly positive season-ending grade, which we’ll see with one of the Nittany Lions we’re about to examine.
