Earlier today, we set the table for Penn State’s training camp by examining how the team’s third-down defense worked last season. Now, we’re going to shift our focus to this season to figure out who will replace critical players in the defensive structure. Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz spoke about his player’s renewed interest in playing on third down during spring football.  “Now that Tig’s done it, the guys love it, and they can see everybody wants to play his position on the Prowler, which is good because you want competition. “You want when that third-down unit takes the field; the guys are not on the field, you want them to wish they were. But there is a price for admission, right? You’ve got to do the things that 16 did a year ago.”
