The summer quest for Penn State’s next quarterback is taking shape in May. Offensive coordinator and quarterback’s coach Mike Yurcich sent out three offers to quarterbacks from different parts of the country this month. First came Ohio’s Ethan Grunkemeyer, a student of Drew Allar’s QB coach, Brad Maendler. Next came Florida’s Trever Jackson from West Orange High School. Finally, Midwest passer Tyler Cherry got the nod from Yurcich during the evaluation period. While the list probably isn’t complete yet, with the Elite 11 passing camp coming to State College on the 21st, we have enough to paint an early picture. So, let’s rank the three passers based on their highlight film and what we know that Yurcich looks for in a quarterback. Before that, we’ll overview each player’s game, going in order of offer.
