Penn State football is searching for players to add to the team for 2022, not only in recruiting but also in the transfer portal. Penn State offered UNLV linebacker Jacoby Windmon a scholarship yesterday, so host Thomas Frank Carr took a look at his film and has a report for you on the BWI Daily Edition.

Windmon Scouting Report

He starts with Windmon’s big-picture numbers, such as tackles, stops, and total snaps, to give you an idea of how UNLV used him and how he performed. Some of those numbers are less than stellar and do not paint Windmon in the light that you expect from a player with several Power 5 offers. T-Frank adds context to the stats with his film review and explains the situations that Windmon was in during his time with the Rebels. Next, he gives a breakdown of the Louisiana native’s strengths, weaknesses and how Windmon’s game translates depending on the need a team has to recruit him.

Windmon joined UNLV as a low-level prospect but is now being perused by several Power 5 programs, including Michigan State and Texas. What characteristics of his game that make him a valuable player? T-Frank gives a breakdown of his physical traits and his mental ones to explain. He also tells you that there’s one key piece missing to Windmon’s game that prevents him from being an even higher caliber player.

Fit at Penn State

Finally, T-Frank shows you Penn State’s outlook at linebacker and why they search for a player with Windmon’s profile. The depth and positional breakdown for Penn State dictate an uncertain future if both starters Ellis Brooks and Brandon Smith depart for the NFL this winter. How does Windmon fit? T-Frank gives his thoughts on the subject, specifically Penn State’s scheme.
