Perhaps the biggest surprise of the Penn State recruiting class of 2023 has been offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh. While Donkoh was a part of the On300 in our internal rankings, the Virginia native was a three-star in the consensus rankings. More importantly, he was the third in a three-man class that featured a five-star player in J'ven Williams and a consensus top-100 player in Alex Birchmeier.  Donkoh's talent was obvious on film, with a prototypical 6-5 frame, but his game experience and overall production from high school didn't match his talents. He was the "project" player among the three, understanding that all offensive linemen are project players.  Yet one year later, Donkoh is fighting for a starting position on the line. Not only did he surpass the other two in his first-year development, but he's also done so by switching positions to tackle.
