More Purdue hoops: Heide, Berg toplay overseas

In advance of sophomore seasons in which both players’ roles for Purdue may expand, Camden Heide and Will Berg will take part in an exhibition tour in Greece this summer.

The two third-year Boilermaker sophomores will be part of the USA East Coast Basketball team that will play four games against national teams from the Dominican Republic, Egypt, New Zealand and Greece (20-and-under). The tour will run from June 24 to July 2 between locations in Athens and Piraeus.

Purdue staff member Sasha Stefanovic will serve as an assistant coach on the tour.

After a debut season in which he was a valuable and versatile reserve for the NCAA runner-up Boilermakers, Heide figures to contend for a starting role this coming season. The 7-plus-foot Berg will have the opportunity to factor heavily into the mix created by Zach Edey‘s departure.

Extremely excited to play in Greece this summer! All donations are greatly appreciated, Boiler Up!https://t.co/fAuTrMIt2j— Camden Heide (@CamdenHeide)April 24, 2024

As former Purdue players Brandon Newman and Ethan Morton did as part of this same organization a few years ago, Heide and Berg will self-fund their participation.

Purdue Fans – excited to play on the team and gain more experience as we prepare for the 2024-25 season. Would appreciate any support you can give towards my goal.@BoilerBallhttps://t.co/ydKBhJayyQ— William Berg (@Wille_Berg)April 24, 2024
