Kickoff times for two more early-season South Carolina football games, including the Gamecocks’ season opener against Old Dominion, were announced on Thursday afternoon.

South Carolina will kick off its season against the Monarchs on August 31 with a 4:15 p.m. kickoff on SEC Network at Williams-Brice Stadium. The non-conference gridiron battle will be the first between the Gamecocks and Monarchs, who compete in Conference USA.

The Gamecocks will host LSU in Week 3 with a noon kickoff on ABC on Sept. 14.

The Tigers have won 19 of the previous 22 meetings between the two squads, including the last seven in a row. South Carolina’s last win over the Bayou Bengals came in Baton Rouge in 1994, while its lone victory in Columbia came in the very first meeting between the two schools, back in 1930.

South Carolina’s Week 2 matchup at Kentucky, set for Sept. 7, was previously announced as a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC.

The Gamecocks lead the all-time series over the Wildcats by a 20-14-1 margin, including a 10-8 advantage when the game has been played in the Blue Grass state. South Carolina has won each of the last two contests, posting a 24-14 win in 2022, the last time the two teams met in Kentucky, and a 17-14 triumph last year when the teams tangled in Columbia.
