Texas A&M offered 2024 Calabasas (Cali.) High four-star cornerback Aaron Butler, who’s currently committed to USC, on Tuesday after the sophomore visited College Station.

Tuesday was Butler’s second visit to Texas A&M in less than a month as the four-star previously stopped through Aggieland the last weekend of March.

“It was amazing,” he said. “It was as good as it could have been out there at A&M.”

Butler was excited to land an offer from the Aggies, describing it as a “blessing.”

“It was a blessing,” he said. “Learned a lot about Coach Fisher, learned about the program, finally getting to see it for myself it it was just a blessing.”

Butler came into town with Fast 7on7 head coach Ro Simon, who trained and coached Texas A&M players like Bryce Anderson, Denver Harris and Leon O’Neal Jr. over the years. Tagging along with Simon, Butler got an in-depth look at the program

“Everybody’s working, it’s a great culture,” he said. “You can just tell they want to be great, striving for greatness, getting back to what Coach Fisher does.”

Butler is committed to USC and stated that Lincoln Riley’s program is the best fit for him right now, but he will continue to evaluate all his options, including Texas A&M throughout his recruiting process.

Butler was the first 2024 recruit to commit to the Trojans since Riley took the job. He was wowed by the coach’s vision for USC.

He previously told On3’s Sam Spiegelman that Riley and defensive backs coach Donte Williams are two key reasons he announced an early commitment to USC back in January.

“Lincoln Riley was a big part of it and I already had a connection with Donte Williams on top of that,” Butler told On3 on his USC pledge. “Everything just grew and blossomed together, and it’s family. We created a good bond with them and I was comfortable making that decision. I just need to see how they play the next seasons, see how it all lines up and I can sign those papers.”

The Aggies will push to flip Butler from his early USC commitment, but isn’t the only SEC school pushing for the four-star out of Calabasas. LSU and Ole Miss are among two other schools pushing to flip the talented athlete, with the Tigers specifically as a school to keep an eye on. He plans to visit Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State later this offseason as well.

Bulter ranks as the No. 95 prospect and No. 11 cornerback in the country, per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks even higher in the On300 as the No. 68 prospect and No. 9 cornerback nationally. He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $14.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
