Cincinnati Bengals cut former Arkansas tight end Cheyenne O'Grady
The Cincinnati Bengals roster just got a little bit smaller. The team cut former Arkansas tight end Cheyenne O’Grady on Saturday, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. He did not make a catch in the two preseason games he played with the Bengals.
O’Grady was an undrafted free agent throughout the 2020 season and never signed with a team until the Bengals offered him a spot on the roster in May. It appears he couldn’t do enough to secure a place on the team in the roughly three months he spent in Cincinnati.
The former Arkansas tight end spent five years in Fayetteville from 2015 to 2019. He was there for the entirety of Arkansas’ 20-game SEC losing streak, the worst in school history. Unfortunately, he was no longer on the team when they snapped that streak last season.
Over 15 games in his final two college seasons, he accumulated 63 catches for 772 yards and nine touchdowns. He played in a limited fashion in his freshman and sophomore years.
Cincinnati also has former LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss on the roster. Its No. 1 player at the position currently is C.J. Uzomah, with Drew Sample second.

The Bengals took former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft. He tore his ACL in his rookie year, but is expected to return this season.
Cincinnati finished with a 4-11-1 record last year, with the tie game coming against the Philadelphia Eagles. So far 1-1 in the preseason, defeating Tampa Bay and falling to the Washington Football Team.
The Bengals wrap up the preseason against the Miami Dolphins next Sunday. They kick off the regular season on Sept. 12 with a matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
When they do so, it will unfortunately be without the former Razorback.
