Most people had high hopes for the Dallas Cowboys this season, but the team again underachieved expectations. After going 12-5 in the regular season, the Cowboys came into Sunday’s NFC Wild Card game looking to win and advance in the NFL Playoffs – but that wasn’t the case. Instead, they underperformed and suffered a season-ending 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

While the Cowboys crushed the souls of their many, many fans yet again, more scrutiny was built up around quarterback Dak Prescott – who threw for 254 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the loss. ESPN NFL analyst Booger McFarland took to Twitter on Monday morning to share his thoughts on Prescott.

“Dak didn’t play terrible however when u juxtapose his performance against Josh Allen the night before he should get a lot of criticism,” McFarland said. “To whom much is given [40 million] much is expected he has to be better.”

Alongside Prescott, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has also been under a negative spotlight for quite some time – and that’s only going to continue now. Just like he did for Prescott, McFarland made a statement on McCarthy, as well.

“Mike McCarthy is a part of the problem in Dallas and that should be an issue for Jerry Jones,” McFarland said.

McCarthy, the former Green Bay Packers coach from 2006-2018, has an 18-15 overall record in two seasons with the Cowboys.

Dak Prescott gives surprising, harsh take on Cowboys fans pelting officials

In truly heartbreaking fashion, the Dallas Cowboys once again found themselves losing a playoff game at AT&T Stadium – this time to the San Francisco 49ers. The last time the franchise appeared in the NFC Championship game was 1996 and it’s been a struggle ever since.

After the game, Cowboys fans were spotted throwing trash onto the field. The referees were passing by but so was DeMarcus Lawrence — with something hit the defensive end.

Lawrence clarified the trash was not directed at him and was actually toward the referees. When quarterback Dak Prescott was asked about the situation after and was told who the fans were taking their frustration out on, he responded in an interesting way that might surprise some people.

“Credit to them,” Prescott said.
