Jerry Jones glows when he speaks about his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Last night on Hard Knocks, his love for Whataburger shined through the television screens as well.

In an episode filled with content about the looming roster cuts, one of the highlights was the Cowboys owner speaking about the specific reason he likes his Whataburger.

“I like Whataburger untouched,” said Jones. “I don’t care if it’s been sitting there for an hour and a half, I’d rather have it that way than have it warmed up.

“I don’t warm it up. I like the original flavor – when it’s coming out the sack.”

Perhaps no two things epitomize the Lone Star State more than the Dallas Cowboys and Whataburger. Evidently, both have the same effect on Jones.

Luckily, the Cowboys owner can have all of the fast-food chain that he wants. Last year, Whataburger became the Official Burger of the Dallas Cowboys.

In a press release, Whataburger President and CEO Ed Nelson highlighted the prominence of the Cowboys and Whataburger in Texas lure.

“Football is serious business in the Lone Star State, and for the past 60 years, the Dallas Cowboys have built a legendary culture,” said Nelson. “Texans also take great pride in their burgers. Since 1950, Whataburger has been serving customers hot, fresh burgers, just the way they like it.

“Together, the Cowboys and Whataburger bring 130 years of experience in winning Texans’ hearts. It’s a partnership with the greatest home field advantage of all – our fans and communities.”

If the Cowboys make good on their expectations this season, we know what Jones’ victory meal may end up being.

Jerry Jones on Dak Prescott

While Jerry Jones may spend a lot of money at Whataburger, he probably spent more on his franchise quarterback this offseason. Prior to the Cowboys opening game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones gave an update on Dak Prescott.

According to Jones, Prescott is all systems go for Week 1.

“Good to go,” Jones said when asked about Prescott on the Cowboys pregame show. “He turned it loose and was none the worse for it.

“The MRIs are showing all systems go. He’s throwing with velocity … throwing with emphasis.”

Additionally, Jones mentioned that he believes the Cowboys took the correct route in easing along Prescott through the summer.

“I think we really have done the right thing easing this along,” said Jones.

Evidently, Jones’ words are music to the ears of Cowboys fans everywhere. With huge hopes relying on Prescott’s health in 2021, Jones’ team will be operating at full strength to start the season.
