WATCH: New England Patriots-Buffalo Bills set to deal with insane weather
The Patriots and Bills will have to adjust for some winter weather for Monday Night Football this week. A few hours before kickoff, heavy snow was seen coming down along with high winds at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.
The temperature in Buffalo was recorded as 38 degrees with winds of 30 miles per hour. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET and it is likely to drop even lower before then.
Accuweather is calling for a 38-41% chance of precipitation during the game. Snow is not expected to accumulate to to more than a coating, with a small chance totals reach two inches. The wind chill is projected to sink to 16 degrees in the second half, marking the coldest game the Pats have played all season.
The matchup is a pivotal one in the AFC East standings, with the winner set to take over first place. It is the first meeting between the two division rivals this season.
The strong winds and heavy snow could make it difficult for both Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and Bills quarterback Josh Allen to get much going. Expect both offenses to struggle and look toward their ground game more often.

New England is currently the hottest team in the NFL, winners of a league-high six straight games. Jones, a first-round pick out of Alabama in the 2021 draft, has impressed fans in his first year as starter. He currently leads all rookies in passing yards (2,850), touchdowns (16) and completion percentage (70.3%)
The Bills won both of their matchups against New England in 2020, ending what was previously a seven-game losing streak against the Patriots.
Buffalo also enjoyed a trip to the playoffs in 2020, advancing to the AFC Championship before falling to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Both the Patriots and Bills have hopes of returning to this postseason, so weather aside this is set to be a wild game.
