I travel I-73 frequently and set my cruise to 9 mph over the posted speed limit and get passed by everyone.

Highway patrol friend of mine told me a few years ago that what they are looking for on an interstate is not really the straight speeders but the ones that are weaving in and out of the lanes while speeding. He said said staying in the speed lane no more than 12 miles over the limit is usually OK. I have to admit I fly on an interstate and the only time I ever got pulled was when I went from the far left speed lane 4 lanes over to the inside lane to get around some cars. Weaving so to speak. Lol

I was pulled coming home from a late night Carolina basketball game on I-40 at the Saunders Road exit in Raleigh around midnight. I had UNC flags and magnets all over my car. It was a Raleigh cop. He asked me if I knew why he pulled me over. I said because I am riding through Raleigh with all this UNC stuff on my car. He laughed pretty good and said slow down and he walked away.
In a similar situation I was pulled in Clayton by a city cop for speeding. I have personalized UNC plates on all my vehicles. The cop looked at my plate and made a comment about UNC, then said he went to NC State as well as 2 of his kids. (At this point I'm thinking I'm screwed) I looked at him and said, "And it's a mighty fine school, too!" He laughed as well and said, "Slow down, you were going 20 mph over the limit." I told him I knew I was that I had just punched the gas because my car suddently sputtered. (It really did).
A law school classmate got pulled on the State campus of suspected impaired driving. The officer asked him to recite the alphabet and he said “A-B-C-D-U-N-C”. The cop laughed, asked how far he had to drive to get home, and let him go. He is now a respected and successful attorney in Raleigh.

I just saw an article where a young girl was charges in my county with 120/70, Flee/Elude, Reckless Driving, and a half dozen other charges. This after being charged in June in a neighboring county with 123/70, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, etc.
Depends on where you are.
On 400, North of Atlanta, on weekdays the police will not bother you until your above 85. (20 over the limit).
On weekends, it's around 75.
Typically on the Atlanta metro area freeways they are pretty forgiving until you hit 15+ over or you're driving crazy.
