First Anthony Knox was stripped of his State Championship & now this girl also had her Title taken away?

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association has vacated the 2026 152-pound girls wrestling state title won by High Point’s Ella Poalillo, a three-time champion and the top-ranked female wrestler in the country at her weight class.

The NJSIAA on Monday confirmed to NJ.com by email that a girls wrestler had her title vacated this year, but did not mention Poalillo by name. The state association did not provide an exact reason why the title was stripped.

Allegedly got busted for sports enhancement supplements or some illegal substance.

Not at all it’s an eligibility issue. She either missed too many days of school traveling all over for wrestling or missed some arbitrary match number njsiaa set
That may be true as my intel came through club rumor-mill. What’s odd is neither the NJSIAA or High Point will comment and the news articles are saying it’s a “mystery”. The only person that seems to claim it was an “eligibility” issue is her father.

I don’t think missing school is a problem the NJSIAA assesses, that’s at the discretion of each school district. My only guess, and it’s just a guess, is either an age thing or some kind of certification thing. I don’t think there’s a match number requirement as that wouldn’t be fair to kids who are hurt for most of the season.

If it was just an eligibility issue, I doubt the NJSIAA and High Point would refuse to comment. I think the speculation/rumor was supplement/substance because she’s a minor and/or there may be a HIPAA issue. But who knows…and she’s not going back to High School

NJSIAA is not a medical entity and therefore not bound by HIPAA

Possibly but maybe not. NJSIAA might be considered a business associate and fall under HIPAA standards as they can provide "management, accreditation and administrative" duties on behalf of a covered entity as it involves
the use or disclosure of individually identifiable health information.
