Football Mount Airy at Starmount

I agree you cannot underestimate MA by any stretch and I know for a fact SM wont. Its week 1 crazy things can happen but I just will be highly surprised if SM doesn’t win this matchup this year.
Mount Airy lost some incredible players last year. Surprisingly quiet from the folks in Mayberry. I don’t know what to expect.
I'm not sure what to think about this game. I would think Starmount should win. I didn't think Starmount looked as good as they should've against Hibriten. Lots of dropped passes. I thought they showed glimpses of what they can do in this past Fridays scrimmage. I understand both were scrimmages though.

Yeah the lack of communication from Mayberry this pre season has been rather unusual for sure! Maybe Otis got really tore up on the white lighting and let the loaded goat out and blew up Andy & Barney….. LOL

I hear that MT Airy QB from a year ago transfered to East Forysth in the Spring and now he is at West Charlotte.
I know schools always have transfers, but I feel like MA normally is the benefit of them. Something going on up there or just a coincidence?
I think someone posted earlier that they were different circumstances. West Stokes got a linebacker from MA

The Starmount-Mount Airy JV has been moved to Sept 10th because of Mount Airy is setting up their new pressbox.

The NFHS feed just will not work at Starmount. They even sent their people out here to figure out the issue and can’t.
NFHS is working in this game by the way. I’m watching it now.
As Coach B W Holt was notoriously quoted in the late 80’s after a thrilling win against Maiden in the playoffs, “It’s not over till the fat lady sings!” The Rams defense finally “waked up” and settled in on the Granite Bears’ Mason and Spainhour. This is a very satisfying win after several years of close ones against our friends from Mount Airy. I have always been more satisfied beating the Bears over the traditional rivals Elkin or Forbush. And I say that with respect for the football tradition in Mayberry.
