Gimme game and it’s east coast summer humid out here. People don’t know what to do. Typical of an El Niño year. SC rolled. 42-10 before bench was cleared.
El Niño conditions don’t kick in until October. The only thing that can, for now, be attributed to El Niño is suppressed Atlantic storms and increased pacific storms. THAT IS IT. anything else to this point is 3 letter news histrionics

Attendance will be atrocious for the UMass game given Rutgers has classes in sessions and most NJ schools will have started. That is without even getting into the weather

Was just going to respond the same way. No interest for this game and Thursday night 6 PM start is a killer. Only works if you are taking a long weekend.
Unless BTN forces us to play Thursday LDW at 6 pm, I have no idea why we choose that time. Would rather play a nooner Saturday despite it being 90 degrees.
Who has class at 6pm on a Thursday? And who goes to the first week of classes?

Stanford seems like the kind of school that will be the first to drop football one day. There is no fanbase. Not a state school so very little local interest.
Rutgers attendance may stink for UMASS but that Stanford crowd had no more than 10k in the building at its peak and that may be generous.
The problem is UAB Birmingham vs. Illinois is at 9 p.m. ET (8 pm local time) Thursday night.
BTN probably wants to get advertising for both games on their main channel and not the overflow channels.

2. IDK about that-there were some tough guys in the stands threatening us and some older fans at the last USC game.

LOL. You like to sit inside and post death threads of 120 year black and white TV and movie stars. I live down here. Labor Day weekend is a madhouse at around Belmar and Manasquan. And there are a lot of Rutgers fans in NJ-many of them don't even know there is a Rutgers football game at 6 p.m. Thursday night. They are wisely going to be at D'Jais and The Osprey with fist pumps all around.

Just a reminder it takes just 5% of only Middlesex County to fill the stadium for just 1 home game (45,000 seats).

There are 10 million people in this state. So when I say sheep I mean we have more in this state than others lol. If 10% of people from NJ are sheep, that's still a million people if we do the math.
look I get the view but the reality is this is their reality (I lived there). half their alums live in LA and less vested in USC athletics than you think. While it's a nice venue, sucks to get in and out and they rarely sell out. It might be your top 3 but what I posted is accurate and leads to less going that the byytching at Rutgers for parking lol All this is despite the success, brand name etc etc..

LA fans are fickle, when a team is doing well, they will show up but when they are not, it's an afterthought.
I get it. The stadium was empty for the night game against Rutgers (a B1G opponent) I couple of years ago. We sat next to what seemed like a family of loyal locals, who were nice. Their younger, purportedly young alumni fans were a bunch of loudmouths. We still thought the overall vibe and layout of the stadium was awesome for it's age, but opinions vary.
That was a great night to stay home in LA.

oh it is awesome, with you 100%. Like many things, it's never black and white. Many of the issues we face here are magnified there but what is truly nuts is that if Rutgers had their history and tradition, I doubt we'd have many of the problems we have.
