watching on my phone, I missed Levi’s match entirely. But Zain’s activity level on the mat is back to his standard in my opinion. He looks great!

His hand fighting always makes guys look like they want to sock him by the end (if they can still stand, lol).

The medical personnel are on the mat looking at Marcus' opponent Josh Rodriguez who I did not realize until I saw the NLWC singlet was a resident athlete. Marcus wasn't even touching him when he went down, so he must have pulled a muscle or something.

Edit: and it's Marcus by injury default. As an aside, I believe the only other USA wrestler eliminated is Dean Peterson by injury.

Josh has been with NLWC for a long time now. Under the radar, but a nice dude. Hope he’s ok.

I'm not sure what is occurring, but I have seen numerous times where the referees have sent wrestlers back to be toweled off before the start of the second period. Extra hot and humid or maybe UWW is emphasising this?

That was a beautiful technique by Zain to switch hands on the single and pull his opponent's hips over to a leg lace. Hopefully Brandon Sorenson, who is coaching the HWC guys at this tournament, didn't see Zain's pin as that was exactly how Zain pinned him at the NCAA tournament : ) Not seeing the pin may have spared Brandon a painful flashback!

How in the world is Caliendo making 65kg???
I thought he was a horse at 165 and thought his cut there must have been rough.

Ok Phewwwww.. graphic must be wrong.
Just looked in the bracketing, he is at 74kg. His life would have really sucked to be at 65kg LOL...

Luke and Cruz should be a good match. Both very Quick. Our guys look phenomenal thus far. Gotta stay focused now. Finals will be interesting. Love our chances for all Gold 🥇
