Rutgers has had a terrible century and a half plus of football
Besides not being able to find good pizza, the one bugaboo about living up here in MA has been the lethargic attitude toward college football. We have BC, but they've been largely unimpressive and ... well, they're like ND-lite, where no one except that cult cares about them at all, and those who aren't fans kind of despise them (freaky pent-up co-eds, back in the day, however - I'll give them that).
So it'd be nice if UMass could actually do something and generate some buzz. I'm guessing they'll still end up a sub-.500 type squad ... and the somewhat-local kids who appear to have provided them a spark are seniors who transferred in (no idea if they have a 5th year of eligibility), so even this small burst of life is likely short-term.

Still have to wonder how in the world they were invited to the Big Ten. Pitt would have been better and not kidding.

The apex of success for Rutgers football was Nov. 6, 1869. Since then, it's been azz.
He certainly had a stoic demeaner; none of the vein bulging, head shaking animation from behind the playcard he's displayed in the midst of past adversity. I was sensing some medication in play, but who knows, perhaps he's found a higher spiritual mantra...
Same thing with the first punt. In fact, the first half may be brutal in the in game thread tomorrow as the team is essentially two teams plus other transfers all combined together, which will take some time to gel.

Ruskers deserves every horrible thing that they can possibly experience.

I had two big time issues with Kraft. One when he didn't fire Franklin soon enough and when he tried to lock-up his buddy as the next HC from the get go. Then had zero fallback plans because up until that point a real search wasn't happening. Then when he actually got started it took on the appearance of a Keystone Cops Movie. It was just a really bad look. But good people usually find a way to land on their feet. Kraft may come out of all that looking pretty good.Suddenly, Kraft’s looking pretty good, eh?
Yeah, the coaching search was a bad. That BYU coach??? WTF. I think HCMC was always in the mix, but Campbell has lived a strict policy of not talking about other coaching jobs in-season which made things difficult.
Stop already. Kraft being able to hire Campbell epitomizes the better to be lucky than good saying. If Campbell had a “well known” strict policy of not talking about coaching vacancies during the season why did Kraft try to do so and fail?
He's probably flushing his head in the crapper at this point.
