Remember when people said our football program should aspire to be like Stanford?

To be fair, starting in 2010 they had 12, 11, 12, 11, 8, 12, 10 win seasons, something that NU never came close to and most likely never will. They were physically dominating the PAC 12. I think 99% of our fans were thinking we should be like them. David Shaw continued the success a little bit past when Harbaugh’s recruits graduated but then fell off.

I can’t believe Stanford and Cal joined the ACC. Flying to Miami and Syracuse and Charlottesville for conference games. The B1G should’ve retained Stanford/Cal for their academic profiles and to create a Pacific division where the old PAC schools could mostly play each other and not make as many coast to coast trips.

In fact I hope that happens. Then we could have the B1G Pacific, Central and Eastern divisions divided by time zone.

And they got throne to the wolves
What happened to them is what would happen to us or Vandy (and others) if the Big Ten had been the little fish that got eaten instead of the other way around. At best, we’d maybe not have gotten the ACC invite, hard to say. We are on the right ship and have a future as a result. It’s that big of a deal.

Disagree. Would like to see Stanford football become the dregs of college football. They are Well on their way.
