Were the stats I provided regarding Osborne or Saban false? Did Joe not survive a lot of down seasons?
Was Joe not highly intelligent? Did Joe not plan ahead in all aspects of life and football?
Do great coaches not comprehend the weight of expectations?
What is wrong? Just because you believed something for 60 years (or your entire life) and don't like someone pointing out the flaws with your logic?

What are your facts that the Grand Experiment never existed? And if your answer is because there were football players who were admitted to the school who otherwise would not have been admitted or were not good students then, wrong, try again. We already know that.

The Grand Experiment, as I've stated, wasn't real--it was what Paterno used to sell families on sending their kids here and the fans to ensure expectations stayed reasonable. It was brilliant but we weren't truly different--we just believed we were.

That was the first Penn State game I ever saw in person. I was also 10. My parents and I were vacationing in Miami Beach and my dad got tix to the game. I remember it rained but we were under cover. I wish I had photos of that night. It was so cool….The only other time I was at Orange Bowl Stadium was the late score by Chaffie Fields game. It also rained and I got wet. Didn’t mind a bit.
I think it will in some form. The system as it currently exists is unsustainable for all but about 10-15 schools. Like I said, probably not in my lifetime. Sports will keep evolving. They’ll eventually come back around to the student athlete.
Okay--so I could see a Super League with like 40 teams and the rest going back. You could sell me on that but not Penn State ever going back.
