There is no injury if you watched the broadcast he was literally doing military up down pushups on the sideline and then left up the tunnel before the game ended as if he crashed out that Schiano was pulling him

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. It looked like there was a staffer of some kind watching him and they talked after he did it. Could have been a physical test of some kind.

If he isn't at least at the game Friday, then let the conspiracy theories start.

Probably an easy decision for Schiano. Lonergan didn't look great and has little pop on his ball. Surace seemed better but that was after Umass already ate their lunch. Even so, Schiano can use it as a rallying cry. He's got to be very desperate at this point. Any potential edge needs to be used.

Btw, good thing he keeps all of those practices and information super top secret. Imagine how much we would have lost by if Umass had access to some camp highlights here or there. Ooof!

Starting to think Schiano kept this all under lock and key to not display how bad the team sucks.

it's his throwing hand and you absolutely could do all of that with even a broken finger. let's slow down and not look tarded here

The real question is what happens if AJ lights it up? Does Dylan's injury "linger" for a few more weeks? Or does Greg ship AJ back to the bench next game?

I think it will be hard for GS to admit he may have been wrong with the QB decision and AJ is QB2 again.

Well - it’s why DL was brought in to begin with - to provide depth otherwise Ashenfelder (sp?) would be starting.

No, if AJ "lights it up" he will definitely be starting until he proves he cant. We aren't in a position to bench any players that are effective

Schiano had no choice, or said another way there was no other way to go. Even if Dylan wasn't injured BC knows every flaw the kid has, why make it totally easy for BC to Defensively scheme this game. (At least AJ has little to no tape out there)
As was said above Dylan has no pocket presence, the pressure totally in raveled him by the way same problem he had last year. If Greg was going to portal a QB why one that was so obviously flawed and did not have a history of success at any level. Either spend the money for a clearly better option or put your wallet away.

Schiano always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, when everyone knows he isn't. Instead of giving Lonergan a bag, those funds could have been used on either someone better at the position, which he obviously couldn't get, or maybe a DT or someone what can help. One thing is for sure. If it took that long for Lonergan to grab the job, he's not materially better than Surace. Maybe even not better at all. So why bring him in if it isn't a clear and obvious upgrade?

Talk to a BCU fan. They will tell you he had 1 good game and was very pedestrian beyond that. What did Schiano see that made him so desirable? Like with his over bloated staff, he is just grasping at this point.

Anyone else surprised he even said AJ was starting? The dude has repeatedly held far less critical information to himself over the years for the purpose of “competitive advantage”, but we’re about to play Dylan’s former school and he lets it out that Dylans not starting? Why not make it seem like he is on the mend has a chance to start so BC thinks they got the O figured out then announce AJ on game day. He usually does that so not doing it in this case seems odd unless there’s something I’m missing.

It's gonna be real interesting if the worst happens and our pass protection fails and AJ gets hit and can't continue playing.
Who does Schiano replace him with ?

Great Question! Unless Dylan’s mysterious Inury heals! Maybe Daniel Larusso can help him!

I never saw the QBs before Friday. AJ had some good plays in garbage time. Lonergan had a nice 70 yd TD pass to Duff. AK behind that turnstile OL would have been a bit frantic. Got to have an OL and RU just cant get that right 7 years in 10.

Yup, and instead of trying to develop a smart gameplan, he focuses on really impactful things like slow defensive subs to try and drain the play clock.

Says who ? Do you remember the Wimsatt @ Wisconsin game? Schiano avoids being second-guessed like he avoids winning. Lonergan is injured.

Patel. Wildcat O. It would be a surprise, but Schiano is lost so all bets are off.

As if Dylan Lonergan should be assumed to have deep loyalty to Greg to go along with faking an injury. I doubt it unless he doesn’t want to play against BC now which could be the case after how badly he choked.
Why couldn't we go after the qb that UMass picked up? Guy was lights out.
Let’s be clear - no QB we could’ve had was doing well with no run game threat. Can’t win that way.

Greg always feels that he has to show everybody how much he knows the rules

Lonnegan throws off his back foot a lot which is a recipe for disaster. Surace may not be the answer but he is no worse than Lonnegan
