I’d be shocked if this actually happens. Most likely just legal maneuvering.
Not disagreeing but why not a local cable network? Baseball does it!LSU doesn't even have close to the national appeal of ND. They might not even be Texas.
The amount of revenue a local deal would spin off is miniscule to what they receive currently from SEC payouts. Would regionalize the team completely and neuter their funding. If that's what they are doing, they have the dumbest leadership in all of sports. Not disagreeing but why not a local cable network? Baseball does it!
That would be a big drop in money. Not disagreeing but why not a local cable network? Baseball does it!
You are totally missing the other factors in being a complete independent, that even ND had trouble with. Not disagreeing but why not a local cable network? Baseball does it!
It's all about trying to play professionals and thumbing their nose at the conference. Dumb on their part. That's Kiffen though. Loves to be the center of attention and will do anything to keep it that way.Is the SEC Conference mad at LSU because the whupped Clemson so bad? I don’t get it.
Big difference between going against the NCAA, and going against your conference.Wait, a school can be kicked out for trying to go to court against the NCAA and/or their conference about who is or isn't eligible to play?
Ya schools definitely shouldn't do that....

NCAA Trying to Block 24-Year-Old Rutgers Transfer From Playing
Jett Elad has already played four seasons of college football in five years, making him ineligible under the NCAA's five-year eligibility rule.www.sportico.com
I thought this too but you know the SEC would ban teams from playing them. If they B1G did the same, they’d have no one to play and that tv deal wouldn’t be worth much.Would not be surprised if LSU is negotiating its own TV deal similar to ND behind close doors. I would be doing it if I was the LSU AD. A deal that would cement them at the top of college football for decades.
BTW I hope Kiffin fails miserably after what he did to the kids at Ole Miss last year
If true it went well beyond just adding NFL players. Apparently, they not only recruited these players while in NFL camps, but also encouraged and provided help in finding legal representation to sue the NCAA. The venue of said hearing being in Baton Rouge is another sore spot for the conference.Adding ex-NFLers to college team kinda proves LSU's "no limits" attitude towards winning over the years. It makes SEC look bad.
Nevermind hunch. 0% chance they will try or even want to. It’s only PR posturing to scare all teams into following conference rules going forward. That's my hunch.
Does Tulane get first dibs back into the SEC?
He’s way better than the current Big Ten commish.Sankey has been mostly a pu$$y and a terrible commish and the B1G has been stealing his lunch money and stuffing his head in a toilet. For once I hope he grows a pair and goes nuclear against the swamp kittens
We now know that the red line for the SEC is recruiting NFL players. With what they've been doing, I am not sure anyone would want them in their conference. You have to be doing some crazy shady stuff to have the SEC consider booting you.
You’ve got to be joking! Sankey is awful…and in his tenure the big ten has thrived. Sankey is continually leading from behind. He lost the SEC on CBS which was a big deal and tied the conference to be completely beholden to eSPIN.He’s way better than the current Big Ten commish.
