Recruiting Weekend & Potential Recruits Coming In

Since the recruiting thread has been highjacked and it doesnt look like it is coming around anytime soon thought I would start a new one. Lets stay on task people

Has anything been mentioned of the "Recruiting Weekend" date this year on the mens side that we bring in as many big names as we can for a home football game? Any ideas who we are going after heavy this cycle?

I see there is a Womens Recruiting Weekend this weekend

With the changes in recruiting timelines, there likely won't be one on the men's side this year. Recruits now have to wait until Aug of their Sr year before they can take official visits. Class of '27 is pretty much wrapped up, so no one to invite. They could bring in current '27 commits, I guess.

Should see it come back next season with the '28 class.

Holy fake news. They can start taking visits August of their JUNIOR year.

And of course, unofficial visits are a thing.

13.6.2.1.6 Men's Wrestling. In men's wrestling, a prospective student-athlete may not be provided an expense-paid visit before August 15 of the prospective student-athlete's senior year in high school. [D]

13.7.1.6 Men's Wrestling. In men's wrestling, an unofficial visit with athletics department involvement (e.g., contact with athletics department staff, athletics-specific tour, complimentary admission) shall not occur with an individual (or the individual's family members) before August 15 of the individual's senior year in high school.

It isn't clear but assuming official visits august prior to school starting for senior year.

I stand corrected. It is odd this hasn’t been covered by any major wrestling media sources. It’s a Ramos tweet and a Basch screen shot. That’s it.

I have heard this talked about on pretty much every podcast that I listen to, mostly in favor of it. The confusion with fans is that the summer months can be referred to as the grade they just finished or the grade they are going into, depending on who is saying it. It makes for a boring summer/fall this year for recruiting because most of the class of '27 has been committed for almost a year now. Next Fall should be very hectic because visits and commitments will come in a rush between August - October for the class of '28, as coaches would prefer to lock in recruits before the college season starts.
