Thanks for posting. But didn’t need Mike to confirm what a couple people on this site have been saying for years.
It's been posted here, by me and others. Al's lies have finally caught up to him. Key numbers vs Umass.

RU NIL ~$26MM Umass NIL $3MM
RU Football Budget $76+MM Umass Football Budget $16MM
Schiano Salary $6.5MM Umass Football Coach Salary $1.3MM

We destroy Umass in every metric possible, except on the field where it's the one place Schiano is ultimately responsible for.

I really don't understand the need for people on this board to direct personal attacks at Al.
He is an over enthusiastic optimist about RU football. Many (many) times he comes across as delusional and at times he is.
If you think that the guy is an idiot then remember only an idiot argues with an idiot.
So if you want to criticize his views on Greg, facilities, NIL or anything else go ahead but there's no need for some of things said about Al on this Board. He's not going away and good for him for that. Don't forget that you can always utilize the "Ignore" button if needed. I found it to be great option.
Now who will be the sharpest knife in the drawer and post the "Leave Brittany Alone" meme as a response to this?
I agree but when Al start getting personal the gloves are off.

Clueless as usual. He was offered the Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee jobs, even if he didn’t finalize things with those schools. He was hired at Tampa Bay. Administrations are willing to overlook his mediocre record because it was accomplished at Rutgers, which has never had adequate resources to compete. Nothing has changed.
Clueless 😂, come on AL when you look up clueless in the dictionary there is a picture of you😂😂

Please stop. Are you trying to say we didn’t have the money to build a good enough OL unit to beat UMass? Greg had not lost a single non-conference game before this one. Our OL has performed fine against this level competition under Flaherty’s direction in every single OOC game over the past 3 years. Most of the same damn players from last year’s line are back including 2 that projected to start last season before injury. The coaching change - a decision made by Greg, was the change. Nothing to do with NIL resources. That unit was completely outplayed by UMass. Many of the same players who stacked up just fine last year against most of the BIG teams outside the very best. Again - please stop this nonsense. We just lost to UMass. Not Oregon. Unreal.
If we had money to buy a top flight lineman, we would have done so. The OL lacks talent, full stop. Why is Wisconsin bringing in transfers from Ole Miss and FSU while our transfers are from Eastern Michigan and similar? Quality is missing from our transfer class, which is why it’s deplorable. Our transfer LBers played like garbage. Our transfer ends played like garbage. Our transfer QB played like garbage. I’m noticing a pattern here. Most transfers we brought shouldn’t be on the field. Like how is that even possible?

Al I usually don't go for the neck but you call me clueless😂😂 Areny you the one that by year 10 GS would win a NC. If he would have accepted u of those jobs, he would have been exposed and ran out of town in 3 years. If he was a good coach he would t have returned here. I will give you this you are a true blue fan. You an GS are similar, he talks good game but can't coach, you make excuses for GS but are clueless when it comes to his coaching ability.

Can you name a school that would even grant him an interview now? The answer is nobody. Will you blame
You are clueless. Go for whatever you want. I don’t care, because you don’t know what you’re talking about. He returned here because we paid him $4M/year. You obviously don’t know the difference between coaching for Rutgers, an adverse situation, and coaching for a program like Miami, which has every advantage possible. Despite the challenges, he has almost won 100 games, and is the Winningest coach in Rutgers Football history . GS is the head Rutgers Football Coach. He is not looking for any other job because we’re paying him more than anyone else would.

For those NOT on The Round Table:

Mike B just put an end to Al's ASSumptions, ******** and flat-out LIES, regarding what we did/didn't spend in the portal this offseason as compared to what UMass spent in an attempt to spin his nonsensical narratives), in a single post.

(I know, I know....not supposed to talk about the RT on the free board, but this just had to be done....)
Comprehension was never your strength. Mike B is talking about the total budget. I’m talking about what the respective teams spent in the portal. It’s an opinion because there are no available facts. The numbers literally don’t exist. So stop being such a meathead. Sheesh.

I’m not the one behind. You have no clue. You’re in my thread. I would never seek you out because you don’t have value to add.
again blabbering on. You own the board now Al? Behind? Me and a couple others have been “educating” you on NIL. Recruiting, strategy, coaching, roster construction etc… for years. Al your schthick is old. Talking about adding no value. You’ve outed yourself on all the value you add both monetarily and with your knowledge of athletics over the many years of bizarre posting.

Thx for the comedy. You misinterpreted what I posted because your comprehension is poor. My schtick is old but you keep coming back for more.

Hard to construct a proper roster without NIL, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. Every good college football team has significant amounts of NIL. It’s not a coincidence. It’s the biggest driver of strong recruiting and proper roster construction. Can’t land the best talent without big money these days.

WE LOST TO UMASS!

How does that have anything to do with NiL?

What’s amazing is you have now accused multiple people in this thread of misinterpreting your words. Maybe it’s because you make no sense. It’s one excuse after another. I get it. Not sure you ever will.. We were talking about coaching and the interview process. You pivoted your argument and what was the original conversation so many times it’s hard to keep track. Carry on.

He’s also never going to be a head coach once RU fires him because no one will want him as he is way past his mediocre prime…

Greg flat out has lost all credibility on hiring competent coaches on his staff. Al too has zero credibility.

I was talking about perception and how recruits and coaches form their impressions based on what they see and how they are treated during their visit. If I make no sense, then feel free to see yourself out of this thread. It’s not like you’re adding value here.

Right now perception is all about UMass (a team that hadn’t won a game against anyone in 16 tries) beat us on our home floor.

He was offered the Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee jobs? Are you sure about that? Why did he get fired from the Tennessee job before he started? Oh that’s right, he was aware that young children were being tortured at Penn State and he did NOTHING about it! Great guy to be running our program. People wax poetic about our CLEAN program and we allow that guy to be here.

Yes, I’m sure. He wasn’t fired from Tennessee because the contract was never executed. You have to work at least one day to be fired. In any case, Tennessee fans didn’t think he was good enough. The other stuff has never been proven and is an unverified rumor.

Mike B didn’t prove anything. Feel free to do so yourself. Show me what UMass spent vs what Rutgers spent in the portal. The next time you have a clue will be the first.

I apologize they backed out of the contract and showed him the door before he started. The reason is well known.

It’s not the first bad loss and it won’t be the last bad loss. Bad losses are going to happen when the team lacks talent.

Bad losses certainly happen but how often does a P5 team essentially get run out of its own building by a team from the MAC or other similar FBS conference? We were never in the game after our initial possession.

We can agree that Rutgers has NIL issues, especially when compared to most if not all of our conference mates, but it seems misplaced to blame the UMass debacle on NIL.

The players did not execute which talks to both talent AND execution. The coaches did not seem to adjust (or adjust quickly enough) when it became obvious that their gameplan was not working. Much of this falls on Schiano in gameplanning, game day coaching, assistant choices and finding the right players within his NIL limitations. We all have had budget limitations of some sort in life or at work. The successful people find a way to maximize within the limits of what they have even if it may be smaller than others in their circle or competitors. While Schiano had had some glimpses of this at RU, he mostly has fallen short of expectations for most of us and the UMass game probably pushed almost everyone else over to the dark side as well. While there's a very small percent chance that Schiano turns it around this season.......the UMass loss probably spells the end of the line for him at RU and I suspect you know that.

Forget "portal". It's about total roster spending.
Rentention or new players.

Forget outside "NIL" money.

Rutgers revenue sharing was capped at approx $20m.
Would you agree Rutgers Athletics spent the full amount?
Would you also agree most of that spending went towards Football?

So at a minimum, Rutgers direct spending on Football talent was at least $15m.
Do you agree?

Alternatively, UMass is spending approximately $5m on their entire reveneu share (see below). Presumably they are trying to be more competitive in Basketball than Football.
Regardless, let's estimate $3m on Football talent.

This is before "NIL".

Are you suggesting Zinn and Schiano raised nearly zero money?
And UMass raised almost $10-15m in outside NIL?

That doesn't seem reasonable at all.
And would be a horrific catastrophe for AD Zinn.

Further, UMass seems to have been at approximately $2m in outside NIL.

That would put their total Football spending at approximately $5m?

Much less than just the Rutgers revenue share. Before any outside fundraising.

"According to Bamford, head coach Joe Harasymiak has over $2 million in NIL money exclusively for next year’s roster,"

Prove it. Prove what they spent in the portal vs what we spent in the portal.
Q: With football investment, there was a report that had you guys between over $20 million and under $30 million. Can you close that range for us and tell us?

KZ: I won’t close the range, but I’ll tell you that report’s accurate.

As for UMass, I literally spoke with people inside the program over there and confirmed it is less than $5m for the roster and closer to $3m I was told. We need to stop acting like UMass has any money whatsoever.

No he didn’t. I just gave you the same invitation I gave anyone else. Prove to me what UMass spent in the portal vs Rutgers. FYI, it can’t be done because the information isn’t available for competitive reasons.

The lynch mob will grasp on to anything that will paint Schiano in bad light. I can admit that Schiano did a bad job with the portal, but we also have to recognize that he had constraints to work under.
