Abe didn’t turn 23 until two months after his first NCAA tourney. Ono turns 23 this February.
I'm not for that. If Cael starts giving concrete answers he is starting to slip.

The exact wording is somewhat vague but the implications are that he will not even be possible until January, and that even then it is "50-50". The part that worries me even more is that apparently there is going to be legal action that is needed, and that action could take a long time.
I asked the source for clarification but nothing so far. It's disappointing as hell: I was very much looking forward to seeing the young man take the mat with the folkstyle format .. whether he would have added team points or been able to win a title was secondary. It's unfortunate but I guess they tried.
Desmond being under 141.1 at certs is making more sense now. Hope we see him eventually

Desmond will go wherever Blaze isn't.
Frankly I think the better way is Nate at 133 and Marcus at 141.

One of the funniest career patterns I’ve seen with this team is Scooter’s. Every year it seems like there’s no way he’s going to make the lineup, and every fall, he ends up starting. While I didn’t love some of his more hotheaded moments last year, I’m still a fan, so if he ends up being our 141, I say bring it!

I am legitimately befuddled by Ono's case. He committed to PSU 18 months ago.
Everyone knows when he enrolled in college, if Japan uses another calendar, okay, adjust it.

This. IMO Desmond could be really good at 133 but won't AA at 141, Blaze obviously will. Barring a growth spurt since last year, Desmond is way undersized for 141 and Blaze at least has the frame to get there. I am really hoping to see Ono.

But back to Ono...I'm with McS on this...how in God's name did this go from one year, to two years, to zero years?At least Masa got to train with Cael and the entire staff, as well as experience the culture of the United States, for a couple years. But it's just sad that he never got to wrestle. After all, he IS certainly a great wrestler as well as a great young man.
The NCAA didn't let professional basketball players compete. The courts blocked the NCAA from banning them from competing.
