While I doubt that anyone on this board will agree with me, I am partial to Warren Zevon's version. Warren was a flawed person and being so close to death, as he was when he recorded that, you can almost hear the realization in his voice that he may not be getting in.

I’ll pick up the flag on your error. The rules require a poster to share a clip of the song when they provide a differing opinion.

Zevon’s version is the best IMO

That's one of the great things about music- different interpretations of the same song. I have several "favorite" versions of "All Along the Watchtower", for example.

Agreed. I am not a big Dylan fan but I really like My Back Pages and the talent of those playing it that night (30th Anniversary Concert) will never be matched. While I am a guitar player with very linited skills, Clapton is my inspiration. As an aside, a big regret I had with my recent open heart surgery was, after taking up the guitar and playing every day for over 7 years, I was restricted from playing for 8 weeks while my sternum healed. I'm back at it now and planning my tour dates.😉
